Donovan Architects

is a full-service architectural firm. Design initiatives are centered on pragmatic, occupant focused, artistically meaningful, contextual, and sustainable built environments.

Donovan Architects was established in 2006 as an architectural practice specializing in sustainable multi-family housing design. To date, we have completed designs for over 60 multi-family housing properties, and over 2,500 sustainable units.

Donovan Architects practices in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Maryland, and maintains memberships with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the International Code Council (ICC), and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

To date, they have completed designs for over 60 multi-family housing properties, and over 2,500 sustainable units.

The vast majority of these projects are certified energy efficient in design by EnergyStar and Enterprise Green Communities, as well as multiple communities achieving LEED certification. Additionally, we have designed a Passive House Certified community in East Hempfield, PA.

Donovan Architects is well-versed in federal, state, and municipal codes and has a history of establishing working relationships with code officials in municipalities in which we work. We are also experts in integrating accessibility requirements in our designs, as well as HUD’s Fair Housing guidelines.
