The community centers at NEW EAST CROSSING serve the adjacent residential apartment community. Completed in 2014, the design links two distinct yet complimentary buildings.
The larger of the buildings is the Community Building, defined and grounded on the sloped site by its distinctive stacked stone corner. The second building sits atop the hill and is home to a branch of the Boys & Girls Club of Cecil County.
A bridge, part of an open-air breezeway, crosses a stormwater retention runoff path and joins the two buildings. Simple materials and pitched single-plane roofs create a contemporary counterpoint to the transitional-traditional architectural style of the residential buildings.
